p/s: Chap-Ling named after Malay word: “chapang – his ears are wide” + “juling – his eyes squint”... hahahaha..

Food Review – Ruz Aladdin

Who is a fan of biryani? Hands up!! I am not really a big fan of biryani I admit that. In fact, before knowing myBoo I never had biryani in my life. Simply bcoz I do not like it. Knowing him, I change my perspective and slowly I took the Indian cuisine to my food regime. Did biryani really is Indian cuisine? As I can see that, many Malays claimed biryani is rooted from Malay legacy. Anyhow, we are One Malaysia. As people say, sharing is caring. From my research, biryani originally came from Middle East to India then to Malay Archipelago. Cooked from basmathi rice, this fragrant and flavourful rice is a main dish in most ceremony besides nasi minyak.

Recently we (myBoo and me) decide to try on one of the famous biryani restaurant located in Ampang, Ruz Aladdin. The restaurant is besides Flamingo Hotel and accessible through MRR2 and Jalan Ampang. They also have one more branch in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), where indeed we prefer to go lately due to the less traffic jam, no hassle to find parking and the ambient (for me ya..) more comfortable.

We ordered Beriani Ayam Merah, Beriani Ayam Goreng and Soto. The biryani rice was flavourful, u can taste the herbs cooked with the rice. The biryani set comes with dalca gravy, acar (cucumber pickles), curry and papadom. Portion here is big, please come with empty stomach, u will never regret. As for the Soto, there is nothing to shout about. For me, it could be much better. Somehow, I can taste turmeric in my Soto. What did turmeric do in Soto soup? I have no ideas.

  Do try their Lychee Kang and Sirap Bandung Johor. Both were refreshing in hot day. The Lychee Kang is generous with the condiments while the Sirap Bandung has mixtures of ice cream soda. Its remind me of Soda Gembira we often had in Warong Ayam Penyet.

Overall, we are happy with the services, food quality and price of this restaurant. Nevertheless, Ruz Aladdin now is in our regular restaurant to visit. Thumbs up from us! 

Song of The Week

Another Monday coming… and yet I realized there’s no entry for the past weeks. Forgive me for being busy. Things come up a bit here and there. With the work and life, trying to juggling between ‘em, I really think my December was hectic. There are still few weeks ahead before we came to an end of 2011, I can see that my target wasn’t completely achieved. But glad that most of it was done. How bout yours?

Today, 9 Zulhijjah 1432H* Muslims all round the world celebrating Eid Ul-Adha or also known as Hari Raya Qurban. Admin and authors of Tales of An Asian Lady wishing all Muslim, Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha… Selamat Hari Raya Qurban… May all our sacrifices and good deeds, blessed by Allah. Do it with sincerity, InsyaAllah our life will be easier and happier.

An Afternoon at Uptown Damansara

One day in Village Park, myBoo and I in deep conversation about pro and cons of buying headset for his Xbox set. While we enjoying our meal (his Nasi Lemak Daging Rendang, mine Soto Ayam and additional Toast Bread), we couldn't realize something really up out of the restaurant.

Me: Do u really think u need the headset? Keperluan or kehendak? (need coz u really use it or its just u want it)

myBoo: I use it while playing games. Playing Gears of War 3 much better and the feels are inside when u used headset. Besides it is Ear Force Bravo, Limited Edition Modern Warfare 3 sayang... by Turtle Beach.

(I feel a bit dizzy there trying to remembering those headset names)

Me: Ok... I don't mind actually. It is up to u. if u think the headset is worth with the price, I am fine with it. What is the specification and all, u study that later sayang.

myBoo: Okkkkkk sayang!!  (*smug face)

Suddenly..................

Waiter: Abang... Abang... MPPJ towing truck outside. Watch out your car!

Me & myBoo: What??

We are shocked, of coz, we parked our car illegally outside the premises coz in Uptown, and everyone does that. Parking was limited.

myBoo walked out, trying to save the car. I went to the window and took a peek.

Me: OMG!!! The towing truck is right in front of myBoo's car! and where is he??

I saw myBoo walk steadily to his car despite the fact that the towing truck is ready to 'snatch' his car!

Me: Can't he run and save us MYR300 before the towing truck tow his car?? (*sigh)

I almost scream in the restaurant. Fortunately, we are save that day. Hehehe… the towing truck went away and snatch out one Mercedes Benz. Unlucky for myBoo as he has to park the car two block away from the restaurant and walk back under the hot sun. 

Seize the day~~
